Pediatric Care

This is a fast growing section in the Chiropractic field. The ICPA which is the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association is becoming bigger and bigger. The reason behind all of this is simply because Chiropractic is a safe non-invasive way to give your children there best chance to heal and stay healthy.

At Palmercare, our doctors have special training in Pediatrics from the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) including hours and hours of continuing education. Any day you walk into one of our clinics you will see children all over. This is because we love to take care of children and they love to come visit our offices.

While Chiropractic is great at keeping children healthy, below are a few symptoms we have had huge successes with.

“Bed Wetting, Colic, and Ear Infections are all too familiar with young children.”

All too often we are told that these symptoms when found in children are “normal.” I want to take this moment to let you know that they are not normal but instead, they are “common.” The difference being that when these occur there is in fact something going wrong with the body, but they are symptoms that occur often in young children.

We have had amazing results with all of these symptoms in children. When children are born they go through one of the largest physical stresses that they will ever go through. The birth process puts close to 90lbs of pressure on a child’s head and neck. That can have a huge impact on their nervous system and therefore their ability to function.

In Bed Wetting we have found that the proper adjustment of the lower back can help alleviate this problem and in some instances correct it immediately. While Chiropractic is not actually a “cure” for any symptom, if the nerves going out your lower back to your bladder have stress or interference on them, then they are not working correctly. With a Chiropractic adjustment that stress or interference can be removed so that the body can function properly and heal on its own. Our bodies are built to be self healing, self maintaining organisms, when we remove the interference, healing can occur.

Colic: The amount of physical trauma that a baby goes through is remarkable. Colic is just defined as inconsolable crying in a 0 to 3 month old. Since there is no actual specific diagnosis of what is going on parents can be driven to all kinds of remedies to try to stop the crying. Non invasive safe Chiropractic Adjustments can normalize the bodies ability to function. When the body is functioning properly we have seen in many children that Colic just goes away.

Ear Infections: This is a very big topic in pediatrics.

From the website drgreene.com:
The most common bacterial infections treated with antibiotics are ear infections. Our current situation demands that we reevaluate what has been the standard medical approach to ear infections. The need for change is clear. The best approach for the future is still coming into focus.

With the overuse of antibiotics for ear infections, we have created a drug resistant strain of bacteria. While antibiotics are sometimes the answer research has showed us that in some cases the children heal in the same amount of time with or without the antibiotics.

From MSNBC.COM

Antibiotics only work against bacterial infections, though some of the many bacteria that can cause ear infections have grown resistant to certain antibiotics. Doctors have no way of knowing if a virus or a bacteria is causing each individual infection.

Chiropractic over the years has shown to be a great non-invasive approach to handling ear infections. From the acatoday.com website:

"Chiropractic mobilizes drainage of the ear in children, and if they can continue to drain without a buildup of fluid and subsequent infection, they build up their own antibodies and recover more quickly," explains Dr. Fallon

Whether your child is suffering from symptoms or not, Chiropractic care is a gentile, non-invasice approach to make sure that your child either gets healthy, or stays healthy. The Chiropractic approach is simple. Since we know the nervous system is in control of the function, development, and healing of your child, we gear our 80 to 100 step evaluation on determining how well your child’s nervous system works.
