Dr Joseph Tshamala, DC

My name is Dr. Joseph Tshamala. I was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in central Africa. My family and I migrated to the United States in search of a better life as war had broken out in my country. My father practiced medicine as a Physician’s assistant in the DRC and from a young age I knew I wanted to do something within the medical field as I shared the same passion with my father which was to help people. I struggled in my earlier years selecting a course of study as the medical profession is broad with with so many specialties to choose from. I was introduced to Chiropractic in my junior year at the University of Southern Maine. Dr. Vance Mitchell, who remains my mentor to this day, was invited to speak at one of my undergraduate courses. He shared his passion of the Chiropractic Profession with the class. I immediately was interested as I had never heard of the profession. Shortly after his presentation, I introduced myself and as he noted, I was eager to learn more. He invited me to visit his practice located in Portland, Maine where I spent a little more than 6 months shadowing. I started Chiropractic College in the winter of 2014 and graduated from New York Chiropractic college in the summer of 2017. While in school, my good friend Dr. Larry Peshkin introduced me to his family practice in Rochester New York were I helped out occasionally with CA duties. I was immediately hired as an Associate Chiropractor shortly after graduating. I practiced at Irondequcit Chiropractic Center from 2018 to 2020. I enjoyed creating Chiro-up condition reports and educating patients on their conditions, and of course chiropractic manipulations to aid in restoring the body’s innate ability to heal. I worked with pediatrics, geriatrics, pregnancies, and athletes. After the death of my father in 2019, my beautiful wife and handsome 18 month old son decide to move to Northern Virginia for a fresh start and to be closer to family and friends. I was immediately hired by Palmercare Chiropractic Center following a two hour FaceTime call with Dr. Corey Malnikof and Casey Holm who was in the background. Following the call, Dr. Malnikof flew me down to meet and shadow 5 of the 13 Palmercare clinics at the time. I immediately loved the culture, philosophy and growth! I hope to grow with Palmercare and help patients reach their optimal health potential so they can live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Dr Heather Brumberg, DC

I grew up in Aurora, Ohio where I played soccer, track and field, and danced for 16 years. While in these team environments, I noticed I had a passion for people. I wanted to help in whatever way I possibly could. So, in high school, I thought I was best serving through dental care. Then, I had a terrible car accident that resulted in months of rehab and chiropractic care. This forced me to see healthcare through a new lens! I enjoyed the holistic approach and the overall attention to overall wellness that my Chiropractor seemed to take, so I switched my focus to chiropractic care. I enrolled at Miami University and obtained my Master’s through Logan University in Missouri.  I haven’t looked back since and have now been practicing for 6 years. I enjoy life as a community servant, exuberant dog mom, and patient wife (most days!).

While I love treating everyone, I absolutely light up at the opportunity to adjust women throughout their pregnancy and caring for their children! I now practice at Palmercare Chiropractic in Sterling VA and would love the opportunity to see you, your family, and your friends.
